The Wellspring football team celebrated a fantastic achievement after being crowned champions at the recent Beyond the Pitch football tournament!
The team joined together with other charities from across Greater Manchester, including Booth Centre, Petrus Community and others, highlighting the positive impact sport can have in bringing people together, building confidence and creating lasting friendships.
The Wellspring entered two teams on the day, with our blue team making it all the way to the final. After a closely fought match, the team held their nerve to secure victory in a dramatic penalty shootout.
There was also another success for the team as our goalkeeper being named Player of the Match after an outstanding performance throughout the tournament!
Football has become a really important part of life at The Wellspring. Every week, people come together to have a laugh, support one another and enjoy being part of a team. Days like Beyond the Pitch are a chance to celebrate that, bringing charities together and showing just how much can come from getting people on a football pitch.
Well done to every charity that took part. It was a brilliant day from start to finish, and we’re incredibly proud of everyone involved.
